Default username and password for the Cisco Cisco Nexus Data Center Switch (NX-OS — Nexus 5000 / 7000 / 9000 series): admin / (blank). Learn how to log in and how to change the default credentials.
Factory-fresh Nexus switches boot with an 'admin' account with no password. The NX-OS initial setup wizard (poap / setup.sh) runs automatically on first console access. If the wizard is skipped (Ctrl+C), admin with no password remains accessible via console. SSH and Telnet require management IP configuration and AAA setup, which occur during the wizard. Applies to Nexus 5000, 7000, and 9000 series running NX-OS.
