FortiSwitch can operate in standalone mode (managed independently) or FortiLink managed mode (controlled by FortiGate). In standalone mode, the factory default admin account has a blank password. HTTPS web management at 192.168.1.99. Fortinet documentation warns that an empty password triggers a security alert and must be set before network deployment. Also applies to SSH and console access.
