HID Global VertX V100 / V200 Access Control Controller — Default Password
Default username and password for the HID Global VertX V100 / V200 Access Control Controller: root / pass. Learn how to log in and how to change the default credentials.
The system ships with Telnet, HTTP (boa web server), and FTP all enabled using the same /etc/passwd credentials. The web UI uses Linux system-level authentication — any user in the axadmin group can authenticate. ZDI-16-223 (CVE-2016-5765) documents an additional remote code execution via the discoveryd service requiring no authentication. HID Global does not publicly document these defaults in product manuals. Controllers are discovered via UDP discoveryd protocol.
