Intel AMT is an out-of-band management feature built into vPro-enabled Intel processors and Xeon server CPUs. The MEBx (Management Engine BIOS Extension) setup menu is accessed at boot by pressing Ctrl+P. The AMT web management interface (port 16992/16993) is accessible remotely once AMT is enabled. Default credential is admin/admin for MEBx and the initial AMT web interface. CVE-2017-5689 (2017) disclosed an authentication bypass; separately, the default-credential risk is independent. Intel recommends changing the MEBx password during system deployment.
