OpenTSDB has no built-in authentication or authorization mechanism. By default the HTTP API (port 4242) and Telnet interface accept connections from any client without credentials. Access control must be implemented externally via reverse proxy, firewall rules, or plugins. Versions 2.x and 3.x share this behavior.
