Paxton Access Net2 Access Control System (Server Software) — Default Password
Default username and password for the Paxton Access Net2 Access Control System (Server Software): System engineer / net2. Learn how to log in and how to change the default credentials.
Paxton Net2 is a networked access control and door entry system. The management software installs a 'System engineer' account with the factory default password 'net2'. This account has full administrative access to door access levels, user management, time schedules, and hardware configuration. Following a 2017 security assessment, Paxton issued Application Note AN1170 and updated newer installations to prompt for a custom password during initial commissioning instead of using 'net2'. The default 'net2' password remains relevant for older installed systems (pre-2017 update) that were never changed. Paxton strongly recommends changing this credential on all deployed systems.
