Yokogawa CENTUM VP is a widely-deployed process control DCS used in oil & gas, chemical, and power industries. When the 'Legacy Model' security option is selected during system configuration, the system creates a built-in 'CENTUM' maintenance account with a known default password. This default applies to the CENTUM VP Engineering Environment and HIS (Human Interface Station) workstations. Yokogawa documentation requires that this account password be changed before commissioning. ICS-CERT has noted default credentials as a risk factor in CENTUM VP deployments.
