Axis A1001 is a network-connected physical access control door controller supporting up to two readers (Wiegand, RS-485, OSDP). The 'root' account is permanently built-in and cannot be deleted. Unlike many devices, there is NO factory-set default password — Axis adopted a no-default-password policy across all edge devices. On first access, the administrator must create a root password via the web setup wizard before any configuration is possible. If the root password is lost, the device must be physically factory-reset. Default IP of 192.168.0.90 applies when no DHCP server is present on the network.
