Oracle Corporation VirtualBox — Unattended Guest OS Installation (VBoxManage unattended install) — Default Password
Default username and password for the Oracle Corporation VirtualBox — Unattended Guest OS Installation (VBoxManage unattended install): vboxuser / changeme. Learn how to log in and how to change the default credentials.
When using VirtualBox's unattended guest OS installation feature (GUI wizard or 'VBoxManage unattended install' CLI without --user / --user-password overrides), the guest OS is provisioned with a default local OS user 'vboxuser' and password 'changeme'. This applies to unattended installs of Linux distributions and Windows. The guest credentials are accessible from the host via port forwarding or shared networks. The guest OS itself may also be accessible if network-exposed.
| Username | Password | Access | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
vboxuser | changeme | Console | Default guest OS user created by unattended install if --user and --user-password are not specified. Change the password before connecting the VM to a network. |
