NetApp E-Series (E2800, E5700 series) and EF-Series all-flash arrays running SANtricity OS 11.40 and earlier had an admin account with no default password for the SANtricity System Manager web interface — the first login prompted to set a password. SANtricity OS 11.50+ enforces a minimum 8-character password and the setup wizard cannot be bypassed. This entry documents the legacy behavior. E2700/E5600 prior-generation systems also exhibited blank admin password on factory-fresh SANtricity 10.x firmware.
