Default username and password for the VMware (Broadcom) ESXi Hypervisor (Direct Host Access): root / (blank). Learn how to log in and how to change the default credentials.

Default root password is blank on directly-installed ESXi; vSphere 8.0 enforces a root password at install time (interactive installer prompts). Some OEM builds differ (e.g. Dell EMC uses the service tag). Applies to standalone ESXi hosts, not vCenter-managed clusters.
